The Granary EMI Care Home, Nailsea
Noma were appointed to design an 80 bedroom EMI care home on a vacant plot off Lodge Lane in Nailsea by Shaw Healthcare, one of the leading Healthcare providers in the UK. The 3 storey scheme revolves around a central atrium, with 3 wings branching off from this central coordination space. The atrium acts as a meeting space and wander space for residents. The design was constructed in timber frame, with a combination of Brick and Timber panelling externally.
The scheme has just won a Pinders Healthcare Commendation for a large Nursing home for its innovative design solutions, whilst maintaining a homely, personal scale.
