NOMA Sustainability is pleased to announce that the Wellington Medical Centre will achieve an EXCELLENT Rating under the BREEAM Healthcare Scheme.
The new Wellington Medical Centre provides a new building and facilities for the existing medical practices and their associated activities.
Working in partnership with the developer Kitto Developments, the doctors and practice manager at the Wellington Medical Centre, we have designed this important new facility with sustainability at the core of the design and construction process.
Our BREEAM assessor, Paul Thornton was able to advise and guide the developer and client through the minefield that is the BREEAM assessment. This included the careful selection of materials including their responsible sourcing, very good levels of thermal insulation, energy controls, site management and waste policies.
The project is currently on site. Our advice is ongoing to ensure the development keeps to, and hopefully improves on the high score we have already achieved.
