We believe the earlier a scheme is reviewed the better and so recommend advice be sought at the earliest possible stage. As soon as the layout of a scheme has been drawn up we can prepare a Pre Assessment which will forecast the anticipated Code level that will be achieved and highlight any areas that need to be improved.
Maximising any sites unique characteristics when considering a Code for Sustainable Homes Assessment is important. An early appraisal will become increasingly essential as the Code levels required becomes higher.
The Design Stage Assessment is normally undertaken after planning approval has been gained but before building work has started on site. This Assessment is where the formal Code level is awarded.
The final stage is a Post Construction Review, which is a checking process to confirm that the dwelling actually built is the same as the dwelling that has been assessed previously.
