Parmin Close, Taunton – Knightstone Housing Association (now LiveWest)

Knightstone Housing Association, working in partnership with Taunton Deane Borough Council, have redeveloped this site in Taunton to provide a total of 78 units. The existing bungalows and flats have been replaced by two buildings that make a more efficient use of the site. The larger block is an extra care facility comprising 66 apartments for flexible retirement living with associated communal facilities that include a cafe, lounges, spa bathroom, hairdresser and communal laundry. The apartments are designed for independent living and are a mixture of affordable rent and shared ownership.

The smaller self-contained block comprises 12 supported living apartments for people with learning difficulties, which includes 2 apartments specially designed for full wheelchair accessibility.
Landscaped communal gardens have been incorporated into the scheme design to provide an attractive external environment.
