Bristol Cathedral School

Bristol Cathedral School

New building to house the Music and English departments, a new library, recording studio and basement play area on College Square, adjacent to a Grade I Listed Library.

This project was very complex due to the sensitive nature of the site. A characterful Jacobean form was agreed with the School Governors for the exterior, with oak windows and slate roofing to give as authentic a feel as possible to the new buildings and to complement the older school buildings on the east side of the square.

Acting as the School’s retained Architects, NOMA undertook a number of other projects for the School’s Governors prior to Academy status, including formation of a new Theatre and Library.
